A Police Chief Inspector with the German Federal Police, Frank serves as Head of Sector of the Office for Combating Document Fraud in Böblingen, within the Police Science and Forensic Section of the Federal Police District Office for Crime Control Stuttgart. He brings over three decades of experience across border control, criminal investigations and forensic document examination.
Frank began his career at Frankfurt/Main Airport in 1995, developing extensive operational experience in border checks, return operations, extradition and operational coordination. After graduating from the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences in 2014, he joined the organised crime investigations team in Stuttgart before moving into forensic document examination in 2017.
A formally qualified document examiner since 2018, Frank specialises in examining passports, identity cards, visas, driving licences and other travel and identity documents. His responsibilities combine the assessment of suspected forgeries, professional guidance of his team and the training of officers in first- and second-line document inspection.
His international experience includes delivering ALDO and basic document-fraud courses on behalf of German Embassies in Addis Ababa, Cairo and Algiers, alongside participation in EMPACT JETs Action Weeks in France. Since January 2024, he has served continuously in Frontex operations as a Category 2 officer with the TALDO profile, with deployments at Siret, Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport, Lyon and Marseille, including responsibilities as Frontex Group Leader in Bucharest. In 2024, he also became a TALDO trainer for ALDO courses on behalf of the Frontex Academy.
